The White House on Flickr
On 02, May 2009 | No Comments
I think I’m going to see how many posts I can write about Barack Obama without discussing any actual politics. The White House has launched an official flickr stream. There’s some really great photographs, and plenty of the neat behind the scenes stuff. It’s further example of how well our new president is being marketed.

Business Cards

Eat This Lars Ulrich (Part II)
On 23, Mar 2009 | No Comments
You can’t make this crap up. After crowning himself king of the anti-music piracy movement during the Napster years, Lars Ulrich has admitted to illegally downloading his own music. Go ahead and reread that last sentence. Take this slow so you don’t get a nose bleed. Ulrich told VH1 that while enjoying a bottle of wine with friends, he pirated the latest Metallica album “Death Magnet” just days after it came out. Lars has apparently softened his stance on piracy considerably: “If this thing leaks all over the world today or tomorrow, happy days,” he said. “It’s 2008 and it’s part of how it is these days.”
I just hope this doesn’t overshadow the fact that “Death Magnet” is a reallly, really stupid name for an album.
Warner Brothers quickly filed a lawsuit against Lars. This one will be interesting to watch play out. Somewhere Shawn Fanning is enjoying a bottle of wine with friends.

On 17, Mar 2009 | No Comments
Giving your two week notice can be an awkward experience, maybe especially when leaving on good terms. Neil Berrett gave his notice yesterday, at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco, and left with style. Neil submitted a sheet cake with his letter of resignation written in frosting.
